Confessions of a Lazy Baker: Mastering Homemade Peanut Butter Blondies

Introduction

I have to admit something. The thing is I love eating homemade desserts, but I am not a big fan of something that takes up my entire day. For example, last weekend, me and my friends were going to a potluck, where everyone was going to bring special. I had to bring a dessert, but I was hesitant. I didn’t want to waste my whole Saturday sitting in traffic and roaming through different stores.

Thankfully, I remembered my favourite grocery delivery apps. Ordering everything I needed only took a few minutes. That included a pack of fresh roasted groundnut for my peanut butter blondies. Baking suddenly felt like a walk in the park.

The Lazy Baker’s Shortcut

Rather than driving to various stores all over the city, I just stayed in my comfortable house and ordered through grocery delivery apps and the ingredients came to me. It was like I had the pleasure of a small victory through convenience. Most importantly, the roasted groundnut pack appeared fresh and crunchy which was just what I was looking for.

Then I got all of the stuff online and began baking. Combine peanut butter sugar butter and flour in a bowl. Then add chopped groundnut pieces and sprinkle with chopped almond pieces. It didn’t take me more than 10 minutes to whip up the ingredients.

I actually didn’t thought that I would save much time in this entire process. Thanks to the grocery delivery apps, I simply avoided the traffic and standing in the long checkout lines at the store. That means, I got extra time for baking while reducing my exposure to weekend chaos.

Baking Success in Under an Hour

I poured the batter into a pan after it was well mixed, and placed it into the oven. Pretty soon, the whole house was filled with a warm, nutty aroma. It was actually very nice smelling, much better than what I thought.

While the blondies were in the oven I made a basic topping out of some crushed groundnut pieces. When the blondies had cooled a little I then added my topping. As there was not much to this recipe I thought it to be rather elaborate.

As I got to the potluck, people were immediately drawn to the dessert. Two or three friends even thought that it was a bakery-bought product. I was flattered and, then again, just enjoyed the moment. They had no idea how simple the whole thing was for me.

Conclusion

That weekend taught me a valuable lesson. No matter how great a dessert is, it does not need too much planning or too many hours spent in the kitchen.

A great pack of groundnut, a straightforward recipe and one of the many grocery delivery apps can help truly good things happen. It took me less than an hour to prepare these peanut butter blondies, they were very tasty and without a doubt they didn’t last long on the serving table. That is exactly what I appeal to as a lazy baker.
